TURNER & WARDEN
CHARLIE
LIV
Musical Theatre writing duo creating fun, heartfelt family shows
with tongue-in-cheek humour and contemporary pop soundtracks
“Liv and Charlie, as young women on trend, have created something fresh and exciting. They are proving why theatres should be investing in young female writers and creatives.”
- That Stagey Blog

Charlie Turner (Music and Lyrics) is a songwriter who works with a wide range
of artists including X Factor winner Shayne Ward and other award-winning
writers. Most recently, her song ‘Battlefield’ was the first single for Kerry Ellis
ft Sir Brian May from Kerry’s album ‘Kings and Queens’. Charlie is also a
member of Mercury Musical Developments’ Advanced Writers Lab I.
Liv Warden is a writer who trained at Soho Theatre Writers Lab and the National Theatre Playwriting course, where she wrote her debut play ANOMALY. The show was named as one of The Spectator's top shows of that year and went onto have a South American transfer in 2022 after a sold out London run at The Old Red Lion Theatre in 2019. She was also accepted onto the Channel 4 Screenwriting mentorship scheme in 2021, where she wrote her first TV pilot
CHILDREN OF BETHLEHEM.

Charlie and Liv have been best friends since they were 11 years old and since then have made it their mission to make each other laugh as much as possible!
As a writing team, their musical theatre debut was GRETEL! A NEW MUSICAL, which had a short sold out run at The Other Palace in 2019 and went on to be developed into THE CLOCKWATCHER. The pair presented an excerpt of the show in 2023 as one of the winning teams at the inaugural Overture Artist Showcase to an industry audience.
Their new show LIGHTNING BOY, after being workshopped in 2024, will have it's World premiere at Birmingham Hippodrome as part of National Youth Music Theatre's 2025 summer season.
